More Betrayals to Come: Daemyra Is Going To Get Worse in HoTD Season 2
Spoiler alert! If you haven't read George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood and have no intention to learn what will happen in House of the Dragon Season 2 prior to its release, stop reading now!
How will the romance between Daemon and Rhaenyra evolve in House of the Dragon Season 2 when the Targaryen Civil War is in full swing? To answer this question one should refer to George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood, which is the basis for the much-buzzed HBO series.
The last episode of Season 1 showed us an unsettling scene when Daemon was choking Rhaenyra out of anger and grief because his late brother King Viserys didn't share the prophecy with him. So, in a nutshell uncle and niece will drift further apart and Daemon will cheat on Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon Season 2.
Let's start with cheating because it is naturally something everyone would love to know more about. Impulsive Daemon will have a love affair with not one but two female characters (how old-school!).
The first woman is Mysaria, also known as the White Worm, the one in charge of an effective spy network in King's Landing. The information she can provide will come in handy to build the Blacks' political strategy to have an upper hand in their battle with the Greens. The romance is nothing new for Daemon as he and Mysaria were lovers in HoTD Season 1.
The other character Daemon will have an affair with is a 17 year-old bastard girl Nettles, who claims the dragon Sheepstealer for the Black party. Daemon and Nettles set off on a journey to the Trident to find Aemond and Vhagar and this is when they are rumored to have an affair.
House of the Dragon's Best Villain is not Alicent After All
When Mysaria tells Rhaenyra that Nettles is her husband's lover she just brushes it off. After all, he would have never slept with a low-birthed girl without dragon's blood. But in the long run she would love to see Nettles dead for exactly the same reason – her love affair with Daemon.
But what about Daemon and Rhaenyra marriage? The GRRM's book says Daemon will be busy with riding Caraxes most of the time, burning enemies on the battlefield and seizing castles for the Black party. Rhaenyra will simply rule back at Dragonstone or King's Landing, so it looks like they won't see each other often.
The filming of House of the Dragon Season 2 isn't expected to end until summer 2023. The release will hopefully occur in 2024.
