Morbius Is Now King: Madame Web Earns Three Times Less & Has Worse Score
Madame Web is lagging far behind one of the movies of all time.
Summary:
- Madame Web earned three times less than Morbius on its first day: $6M against $17.3M.
- Madame Web’s current Critic Score on Rotten Tomatoes is 13% while Morbius sits at 15%.
- Madame Web’s Audience Score tells the same story: it’s 45% against Morbius’s 64%.
To say that Dakota Johnson ’s newest superhero outing started from the wrong foot would be a wild understatement. Released on February 14, Madame Web is seemingly set to break every Marvel anti-record possible: the movie has terrible critic and audience scores and humiliating reviews and was watched by like five people.
Immediately after its release, Madame Web loses in all departments to Morbius, of all movies! If Jared Lero’s vampiric embarrassment is ahead of you, you’re in trouble.
Madame Web Earns Three Times Less Than Morbius
Let’s be real here: no one but Jared Leto has ever taken one of the movies of all time seriously. Thanks to all the memes, Morbius was relaunched in theaters twice — and failed again and again, failing to attract the audience that was ridiculing it. But despite that, even Morbius somehow managed to haul $17.3M on its first day out!
Madame Web… Well, let’s just say it didn’t.
On its first day after release, Dakota Johnson’s anticlimactic superhero outing earned $6M in total — three times less than Morbius. Is it the all-time Marvel anti-record? It very well might be, but we won’t jump to conclusions in case someone’s box office calculators malfunctioned and missed the zero in the end.
Madame Web Sinks Lower Than Morbius On Rotten Tomatoes
Yesterday, we reported that Madame Web’s Rotten Tomatoes score was almost as low as that of Morbius. But a new day brings new exciting updates: lo and behold, Dakota Johnson’s unfortunate outing just sank lower than Jared Leto’s notorious movie! They’re sinking down so quickly, aren’t they? We’re almost crying.
As of the time of writing, Madame Web has the Critic Score of 13% against Morbius’s solid 15%. The Audience Score tells the same story: it’s 45% for the clairvoyant girl against 64% for the vampiric superhero wannabe. The situation is looking more dire by the day, and it means something when there have only been two days since a movie’s release!
You don’t have to see the future to realize where Madame Web is heading, but we’ll wait until Monday to see whether the opening weekend miraculously fixes things.
