Minx Won't Be Coming Back For S3, Jake Johnson Believes: 'That Was Brutal'

Why Minx Wasn’t Renewed For Season 3

Minx Season 2 premiered on July 21, 2023 and ended in September. Since then, the future of the show has remained unclear, causing much concern for fans who enjoyed the lighthearted story of Joyce Prigger's success.

Jake Johnson, who played Doug Renetti on the show, shared his thoughts on the possibility of Minx returning to Starz, or any other network for that matter, in an interview with Deadline:

“By evidence of me cutting my hair short, I don’t [expect a renewal]. I think the move to Starz, I think HBO kind of doing their HBO thing, or HBO Max, whatever it’s called now, I think that was brutal for [the show]. Then, I think the strike coming out right as we were trying to promote it…My guess is you can’t beat something up that many times and keep going.”

Minx isn't the only show to fall victim to this year's industry changes. However, unlike League of Their Own and Shadow and Bone, both of which were beloved by fans but cancelled, it still has a chance to resurface with a brilliant Season 3 that would give everyone some much-needed closure.
