Millie Bobby Brown Says Stranger Things Became a Burden For Her Over the Years
The actress is ready to move on to things she's truly passionate about, something she wasn't able to do while starring in the series.
The Stranger Things TV series has been around for over seven years now, following the release of its debut season in July 2016.
Since then, being a part of the hit Netflix series has boosted the careers of everyone involved, but most importantly, it has served as the perfect launching pad for the younger members of the cast, who have begun to get more prominent roles after being a part of the show.
Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, a young girl with supernatural abilities, is no exception. Having only appeared in episodic roles prior to Stranger Things, she has now become an international star.
During the first season of the series, she was only 12 years old, and now she is 19 as the show heads into its final season.
However, despite being her breakout success, over the years the show has become a setback for her blossoming career, as Brown revealed in a recent interview with Glamour magazine.
The actress said that she is absolutely ready to say farewell to the show because it has taken up too much of her time and prevented her from doing things "that she is passionate about."
Still, Brown acknowledges how much of a positive impact the show has had on her life, as she is grateful for the priceless experience that this chapter of her life has provided.
Apparently, she also intends to stay in touch with her co-stars, mentioning that she will be able to see them even after they part ways.
Fans point out that this is a natural progression for young actors whose first roles happen to be in hugely successful projects, as they either continue to be typecast or venture in a completely different direction.
They cite the example of Daniel Radcliffe, who, after starring in the Harry Potter films, completely distanced himself from the role of the boy who lived and went on to star in all sorts of independent and even bizarre projects.
Although it was recently announced that work has resumed on the script for Stranger Things season 5, no release date has been announced.
