Yellowstone is the type of show that has always maintained interest by keeping viewers on the edges of their seats.

It was never certain which Dutton family member would be the next to get into trouble or feud with each other. However, some argue that the show has ultimately run out of story.

It's true, while audiences are accustomed to dynamic season finales, the mid-season conclusion of season five lacked spice and, even worse, was not the only bad news Yellowstone fans received. Paramount also dropped a bombshell by announcing the second half of season five of Yellowstone will not arrive until summer 2023.

The revelation was not exactly welcomed by the TV show's fans who were already disappointed with the underwhelming mid-season finale. In the episode, the rift between Jamie and Beth Dutton continues to drag on as it did near the end of season four of Yellowstone. It's clear the two siblings are conniving to be the demise of each other yet very little has happened other than a lot of talk.

Meanwhile, John Dutton decides to meet with Monica, a character that has been a frequent source of criticism this season. The two share a heartfelt conversation in which John outlines his plans to eventually hand the ranch over to Monica's son, Tate. There are many on Reddit that have been forecasting Tate as the most deserving of inheriting the Dutton Ranch.

Nonetheless, the property may ultimately be threatened by outside interests. Jamie decides to address the state legislature and reveal his father's transgressions. As a result, the Attorney General of Montana is seeking impeachment. The political maneuver may just get Jamie what he finally wants yet not if Beth has anything to say about it.

Jamie's Betrayal Was Totally Justified, According to Yellowstone Fans

Unfortunately, the fifth season of Yellowstone has been a failure for many people. There are many online that believe the show has finally run out of ideas. Moreover, audiences appear tired of the feud between Beth and Jamie, as well as tired of Monica's antics and fatal decision-making.

Be that as it may, most agree that they are willing to wait until this summer to find out how the rest of the season plays out, even if they have been displeased with recent episodes. "I'll continue to stick it out," one commenter remarked, "but if [episodes] continue to go downhill, then I'm calling it quits."

Did Yellowstone finally run out of material? We'll have to wait until summer 2023 to find out if season five can resurrect itself after a boring and disappointing start.
