Sometimes a small detail can ruin the whole experience of acting in a great movie.

Michelle Pfeiffer's acting has always been noticed by critics. However, she has not always been fortunate enough to find roles that allow her to fully showcase her acting talent.

Ironically, one of Michelle's most striking performances was the role of Catwoman in Batman Returns.

The comic book hero is always a grotesque character. But Pfeiffer managed to convincingly portray all the contradictions that characterize Selina Kyle.

Cunning, dangerous, sexy, a superhero version of the classic femme fatale, she remains in many ways a lost and suffering woman, yearning for solitude, longing for love and not knowing what to do with her life.

In Batman Returns, Catwoman is a modern woman turned inside out — she has already partially escaped the power of the patriarchy in interpersonal relationships, but she encounters it again in the face of large corporations.

However, there was one thing Michelle resented about filming Batman Returns, despite the interesting character development and other benefits of the movie.

It turns out that Pfeiffer hated wearing the Catwoman costume because it was so tight that standing and moving around in it for long periods of time caused dizziness and blackouts.

Over 60 of these costumes were made throughout the movie, each costing around $1,000.

This means that the wardrobe department spent over $60,000 on Catwoman's costumes alone, not counting all the pre-production fabric samples and discarded design ideas.

The inconvenience was that the actress' entire body had to be powdered, then a suit had to be put on and vacuumed. Then the suit was coated with a special silicon-based liquid to make it shiny.

And the mask was rubbed and pressed on the face.

"I regret that more than anything. I hated wearing that catsuit so much. By the end, we had a bonfire, and I was just so happy. There was a zillion of them, because they'd break, and you'd have to throw one on. I never wanted to see it again, and of course, now, I wish I had one. But I kept my whip," Michelle said in her interview with The Oklahoman.

Nevertheless, Michelle has repeatedly admitted that she would love to return to the role of Catwoman.

Hopefully, if that ever happens, costume designers will come up with a more comfortable costume... hopefully.
