Something, something, the heavens send an 18-wheeler truck to Medieval Europe to fight endless hordes of zombies. Amid all that, Post Malone and Michael Bay, happy.

Summary:

  • Director Michael Bay and artist Post Malone are collaborating on a “new IP universe.”
  • The unnamed franchise is set in Medieval Europe overtaken by hordes of zombies, but an 18-wheeler truck sent from heaven tries to fight them off.
  • Bay, Post Malone, and their creative colleagues from Vault Comics are excited to bring this idea to life with an upcoming graphic novel.

Let’s admit it: Michael Bay’s passion for giant semi-trucks sent from somewhere far away has been well-known since the first Transformers movie. But years later, the director is wheeling to take it 18 steps further, working with famous artist Post Malone to introduce a brand-new IP universe that sounds even more bizarre.

Like, by a far shot more bizarre.

What Are Post Malone and Michael Bay Cooking?

Picture this: your typical Medieval Europe setting, but instead of peaceful peasants, noble rulers, and ambitious warlords, there are hordes of zombies dominating the continent. The only thing standing between human civilization and its complete annihilation by the hands and teeth of the undead is an 18-wheeler truck sent straight from the heavens.

How does that sound?

Post Malone thinks it sounds “badass,” and Michael Bay claims it’s “just what the graphic world needs.” The director and the artist work together to create this new universe with a ridiculously grotesque premise, and they plan to launch it soon starting with a graphic novel made by Vault Comics (Barbaric, The Autumnal, etc.).

Creators Have High Hopes for Their New Universe

Post Malone is chuffed to bits with the idea. Michael Bay thinks they're onto something huge there. Their creative partners from Vault Comics? They’re hyped.

“We get to work with an exceptional artist at the top of his game to build a completely original story from the ground up. We have an iconic director helping to guide the creative development. We’re going to bring the world a mind-blowing graphic novel, and that’s just the beginning,” Vault Comics CEO Damian Wessel told Deadline.

For now, there are no promises beyond the graphic novel being cool as all hells and establishing a brand-new franchise. There’s no release date or even window for the first entry, but admit it: you’re curious now. We definitely are, anyway. Michael Bay found another way to scratch his obviously enormous Transformers itch, and as bizarre as this idea sounds, he has an amazing team and vision to bring it together.
