Meme Therapy: How Fans Are Dealing With Succession Ending
You know how the Internet deals with both good and bad news, don't you?
Less than a week ago, Succession creator and showrunner Jesse Armstrong in his interview for New Yorker revealed that season 4 would be the last for fans to see.
"I've never thought this could go on forever. The end has always been kind of present in my mind," he said, explaining his decision.
It has been rumored that the show is slowly coming to an end long before we got an official confirmation. However, the number of characters and storylines that could still be explored kept everyone believing in Succession's longevity. Ever since the show aired in 2018, it gained huge success with 48 Emmy nominations and 13 wins, so no one thought they would see it end at its peak.
Although there is still plenty of time to get prepared for the finale, fans are devastated by the news and are just coming to terms with their emotions. And we know how the internet is, so expect nothing less than a flood of relatable memes to share the collective pain. It's sad to see your favorite show end, but thankfully Twitter and Reddit never fail to lighten up the mood.
Here are some of the best memes about the Succession ending.
Whilst some fans simply refuse to believe the news is real, and they'll have to let go of Roys's Family, others are coming up with debunking tweets. Which, we must add, certainly make sense.
Kendall Roy having a full-on bathroom breakdown must be the most representative image of how fans feel about sudden news.
However, according to some fan theories, the show's ending may not be the only reason for him to be sad.
All in all, fans conclude, we can't get enough of Succession. Just like we can't get enough of the welcome drinks at our local bars.
We don't condone violence, but that's one way to get Succession renewed for Season 5 for sure.
As much as we want to continue living in denial, the final season of Succession will premiere on HBO in a month, on March, 26. Make sure to not miss out and see how the past three seasons of family business drama will unfold.
