Meet Chicago Fire's Most Toxic Character
Not all characters on the acclaimed drama TV series are equally beloved by fans, as this surprisingly unlikable individual suggests.
Chicago Fire has a wide variety of colorful characters, most of whom are absolutely beloved by fans of the show.
Sometimes, however, a character who is supposed to be likable turns out to be absolutely repulsive to most viewers.
Such seems to be the case with Gabriella "Gabby" Dawson, portrayed by Monica Raymund, who used to be one of the main characters of the show.
According to many fans, she is arguably the most toxic character on the show, as she only cared about what would ultimately benefit her, routinely treated Casey as her personal project, almost never consulted him, and became emotionally unstable when things didn't go her way.
All of this made her really annoying to most viewers, who sighed with relief when she finally left the show after divorcing Casey and moving to Puerto Rico in season 6.
Of course, this is in no way Monica Raymund's fault, as she did her best as Gabby, the reason is that the character is written that way.
Although she shows some good qualities every now and then, it is clearly not enough to make her likeable.
Some fans blame Dick Wolf, the show's executive producer, for this, as he allegedly has a bad reputation for intentionally writing female characters badly.
This is questionable though, as not all of the women on Chicago Fire are strictly horrible, the show has its share of likable female characters as well.
Another explanation is surprisingly simple: just like in real life, people are different. Not every character has to be good, sometimes you meet annoying and toxic individuals, it is what it is.
Anyway, we may never know a definitive answer to this question, as Gabby is long gone from the show.
But there is another candidate, because Violet seems to be just as bad to some fans, so they want her to leave as well.
