Medical Drama With NCIS Star Beats Grey’s Anatomy in Everything, But There’s a Catch
For the real fans of the genre.
There are a lot of different medical dramas out there on TV, but few of them managed to become really successful and extremely popular among viewers. One of such dramas is, of course, Grey’s Anatomy. There’s hardly anyone who hasn't heard of Meredith Grey’s shenanigans.
The show is now on its season 20, and it’s hardly going to end anytime soon. But there’s another perfect medical drama to watch if you are a fan of the genre, and we are sure you are going to like this one even more – even though there is a catch.
Chicago Hope Walked So Grey’s Anatomy Could Run
The drama we want to tell you is called Chicago Hope and no, it has nothing to do with One Chicago franchise. Chicago Hope is a medical drama that aired on CBS from 1994 till 2000 and had 6 seasons. The show followed the many lives and trials of the staff of a major hospital in Chicago.
The series is a bit soap-opera-ish and has a huge ensemble cast, with focus on surgeons Jeffrey Geiger and Aaron Shutt, played by brilliant actors Mandy Patinkin and Adam Arkin. The cases they worked on are usually complicated with many ethical complexities. The fans of the show really loved their chemistry and enjoyed the seasons where both of the actors were included.
However, there were more actors worth recognizing. For example, NCIS fans should definitely know these two TV stars. The first one is Mark Harmon, known in Chicago Hope as Dr. Jack McNeil, and in NCIS as the one and only Gibbs. The second actor is Rocky Carroll, known to Chicago Hope fans as Dr. Keith Wilkes, and to NCIS fans as Director Leon Vance.
For many people, the show was not just background noise or something to watch while cooking, but had a real sentimental meaning.
“I miss this show so much. I remember when it was streaming on Hulu. I was pregnant and would watch it every morning after my husband went to work. I woke up one day and it was gone. I went full Karen and wrote, called, and even joined Twitter to tell them to bring back my show,” Redditor Specialist-Smoke said.
How to Watch Chicago Hope?
The catch we were talking about is that currently, the series is not available to stream, but we hope that will change soon. Meanwhile you can find Chicago Hope on DVD on Amazon.
