Why doesn't Captain America's ending sit well with all the fans?

In the movie Avengers: Infinity War, one of the most iconic Marvel characters, Hulk, gets heavily beaten up by Thanos, and we don’t see Hulk till the next movie. Many fans absolutely hated it as we didn’t get to see the classical “Hulk Smash!” moment.

But, some fans think that there is one character who was treated even worse. Captain America 's arc took a turn that left many fans scratching their heads. Some fans argue that Endgame’s portrayal of Captain America contradicts his previous character development.

Throughout the Infinity Saga, we see Steve make countless sacrifices, from volunteering for the super-soldier experiment in Captain America: The First Avenger, to sacrificing his own life to stop the Red Skull in the same movie.

Given this history, some fans find it hard to believe that Steve would suddenly choose to retire and lead a tranquil life with Peggy Carter. They believe such a decision doesn't align with the persona of a man who has always put others before himself.

On the other hand, some fans view Steve's retirement as a fitting conclusion to his character's journey. They argue that after years of selfless service and immense sacrifices, it was time for him to prioritize his own happiness and well-being.

This perspective sees Steve's decision as a reflection of his growth and evolution as a character. He went from a selfless soldier always ready to sacrifice himself for the greater good, to a veteran who finally chose peace and personal happiness.

This perspective also takes into account the toll that years of fighting and loss have taken on Steve. Throughout the Infinity Saga, Steve loses many people he cares about, from Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger to Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame.

These losses, along with the physical and emotional toll of years of fighting, could have contributed to Steve's decision to retire.

Another point of contention among fans is the way the movie handled the concept of time travel. Some fans argue that Steve's decision to stay old contradicts the rules of time travel established in the movie.

They believe that it would have made more sense if Steve had returned to his own timeline as an old man.

Do you think MCU did Captain America dirty, or was it a fitting conclusion to his journey?
