Max Thieriot Faced a Tough Choice Between SEAL Team and Fire Country, But He Chose Right

Few people know that the actor who plays the main character in Fire Country, Max Thieriot, came to the show from another similar project, SEAL Team.
Facing the painful choice of remaining a SEAL or re-qualify as a firefighter, Thieriot chose the latter, and that is how Bode became who he is.
The main characters of the SEAL Team series are members of Special Forces and the elite of the US Navy.
These guys are entrusted with the most difficult and dangerous missions: search and rescue, sabotage elimination and even hostage rescue.
True to his duty, respected by his colleagues, the main character Commander Jason Hayes has led many dangerous operations.
The series was released on the CBS channel in 2017, and until recently, Max Thieriot was one of the main characters who started their journey from the very first season.
Max played Navy SEAL Clay Spenser. The show was recently renewed for a seventh season, but without Thieriot as part of the cast.
By the time the filming of SEAL Team season 6 began, Max had already signed up to participate in Fire Country. The actor tried to combine two projects, but as it is often the case, parallel shooting rarely works.
While in SEALs he was one of several characters, in Fire Country Max plays the role of the main character Bode and is also an executive producer.
So when it became clear that it would not be possible to effectively combine the shooting of two shows, the choice was obvious.
The writers of SEAL Team were faced with the task of giving a proper farewell to the actor who spent six years on the set of the show.
Showrunner Spencer Hudnut admitted that they wanted Clay Spenser to leave the series as a hero, so in the episode 8 of season 6, the character dies saving his colleague.
Many fans are glad that the actor made this decision, because without him, the story of the Fire team would be completely different.
The success of the series, starring Max Thieriot, is confirmed by consistently high ratings and viewership.
The Fire Country episode 19 of season 1 will be broadcast on CBS on April 21st.
