He might start to lose a few points in the eyes of the fans.

The first season of Game of Thrones’ prequel, House of the Dragon, was an immediate success. The show has spread all over the social media like a wildfire and managed to get to the hearts of millions of people so fast, it was renewed by HBO the day after the pilot’s premiere.

No one had any doubts about its quality, and now that season 2 is near, fans are hopeful to get the show at least just as good, if not even better. What’s important to remember, however, is that the setting will change, as both teams step into war. With different motives and put in different circumstances, the characters you know and love may still surprise you.

Will Daemon Die in House of the Dragon Season 2?

Though it is impossible to tell in which part of the show will one or another character die, given that the fans don’t even know at which point the writers will decide to finish the show off, it is possible to predict some changes. Especially now that the actors are willing to share more about their characters’ paths.

Speaking to Variety for a special feature, Matt Smith, who portrays Daemon Targaryen, teased how the prince consort may change in the eyes of upcoming war. Known for being violent and ruthless, the former warrior and hero is likely to find himself lost.

“In his perverse way — and it is deeply perverse — Daemon thinks he’s doing the right thing. And sometimes he’s just doing it because he likes that feeling of being the black sheep. We start to see the mask slip. Life becomes more difficult, and he gets soft around the edges. He starts to unravel,” the actor said.

With his wife mourning the loss of two of her children at the same time as she prepares for war, Daemon will not be as comfortable as he has been for years in their family life. And knowing how hot-headed and short-tempered he has always been, fans can expect him to make some questionable decisions along the way.

Whether the Daemon stans will be able to support him through this time of uncertainty, or see his true cruel nature, we'll just have to wait and see. Season 2 of House of the Dragon will premiere on Netflix on June 16, so be sure to tune in and see how the events of the season 1 finale have affected the plans of both Team Black and Team Green.
