Marvel's Highly Expected Team-Up Movie Delayed Due To Writers Strike

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios has decided to delay the filming of another one of their upcoming productions.

Thunderbolts, which was scheduled to begin filming in Atlanta on June 12, has been put on hold. The crew received the notification today, and sources indicate that production will resume once the strike is over.

At San Diego Comic-Con, the official release date was set for July 26, 2024, but in light of this news, it's unclear if the movie's release date will be affected by the hiatus.

If you haven't heard about the Thunderbolts before, let's simplify it for you. Think of them as Marvel's counterpart to The Suicide Squad.

The Thunderbolts consist of individuals who are not exactly heroes, brought together to try and make them do good things.

The expected roster for the Thunderbolts is set to feature US Agent, Winter Soldier aka Bucky Barnes, Ghost, Baron Zemo, Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, Taskmaster, and Valentina de Fontaine. Reportedly, Yelena Belova will assume the role of the leader.

Thunderbolts was scheduled to be the next movie after Captain America: New World Order where Harrison Ford will make a debut as Thaddeus Ross, replacing the late William Hurt.

He was also reported to take part in Thunderbolts. By the events of the movie, Ross will have probably become Red Hulk.

Fans feel upset about the news. Thunderbolts was expected to be a breath of fresh air for the MCU, which is currently not feeling well, to say the least.

Except for the latest MCU movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Was James Gunn 's movie an exception, or is Marvel back in the game? We'll have to wait to find out.

Let's hope the movie won't be affected too much neither in quality nor in its release date.

While having a title that is not really popular, the Thunderbolts movie has high chances to introduce something fresh to the MCU, and it will be a big disappointment if the film falls short.
