Marvel Meets Cowboys: Two Yellowstone Stars Rumored to Join MCU
If there is a successful television universe out there, you can be sure that Marvel has eyes on it.
Hold on tight, Yellowstone fans, because it looks like some of the cowboys might be heading straight for the MCU.
At least that's what Marvel insider Jason Kane said, though he declined to name the actors.
However, fans were quick to start a brainstorming campaign on Kane's Twitter thread. According to one fan, the Yellowstone actors in question could be Kevin Costner and Wes Bentley. Costner plays the patriarch of the Dutton family, while Bentley plays Jamie Dutton.
Bentley's potential MCU gig seems even more plausible since he recently hinted that his character is unlikely to survive the Yellowstone finale. If he is killed off, it would essentially clear his schedule for whatever Marvel has to offer.
While the fate of both John and Jamie Dutton on the show remains unclear, fans now suspect that at least two characters will be killed off soon.
The rumor does not specify which roles have allegedly been secured for the Yellowstone actors. Some fans have suggested that one of the roles could be Sentry, the projected antagonist in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. Kane has not responded to this suggestion.
Yellowstone is scheduled to return to the small screen in the summer of 2023 for the second half of its fifth season. There has been no official word on whether Season 5 will be the last for the show, but actor Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler on the show, has said that showrunner Taylor Sheridan has at least two more seasons in mind for Yellowstone.
