Martin Freeman’s 100%-Rated Crime Drama Is Now on Prime Video
And you simply can’t miss this one-of-a-kind show.
Modern shows with a perfect score for all of their seasons are a rare finding in the industry now, but Martin Freeman’s series is definitely one of those.
A police drama show The Responder hasn’t been talked that much about since the release of its first season a couple of years ago, but the highly acclaimed series now has all chances to get itself a much bigger audience, since both of its seasons have officially landed on Prime Video.
Based on ex-police officer Tony Schumacher's real-life struggles in both personal and professional life while carrying out duties of an urgent response officer, The Responder follows Martin Freeman’s Chris Carson during a bad time of his life, since he’s trying to save his marriage and still has to keep himself together at work patrolling dangerous streets of Liverpool.
Experiencing major difficulties after being demoted from a position of an inspector, Carson is haunted by other troubles that are waiting for him at home, making his childhood trauma even more unbearable to live with.
Having arrived to the screens back in 2022 with its first season, The Responder was quick to get a status of a big hit with lots of accolades coming from both critics and viewers, and the second season released this May didn’t disappoint either.
The show currently holds wow-like scores of 100% and 76% for season 1 from professionals and the audience respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, while the second season was attributed 100% and 68%.
Sharing their raving reviews about the series’ brand new installment, many pointed out a pretty weird, yet true observation that even the lead character’s distressing condition throughout the whole show is what the viewers want to share with him, which is a clear merit of excellent writing and Martin Freeman’s powerful performance.
The Responder’s season 1 and 2 are now available for streaming on Prime Video.
