Margot Robbie Switches Sides, Wants to Join Marvel After Playing DC's Harley Quinn
Amid both major superhero universes going through massive resets, Margot Robbie is reportedly negotiating to join MSU while remaining in DCU at the same time.
Margot Robbie 's debut in the superhero genre happened back in 2016 when she portrayed the infamous Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad.
While the movie itself was received rather coolly, the general public praised Margot's twist on the iconic character and her appearance in the movie, proving she was the right choice.
Since then, the actress has reappeared as Harley Quinn twice more: in 2020 Birds of Prey and in 2021 The Suicide Squad.
Despite the DC Universe's upcoming reset, the man in charge of it — James Gunn himself — stated that Margot Robbie will maintain the role of Quinn for the upcoming movies in his version of DC.
This is partially why the recent scoop by Daniel Richtman came as a surprise for many.
According to the insider's information, Marvel Studios wants Robbie to play Sue Storm in the relaunch of the Fantastic Four. Allegedly, the actress and the studio's representatives are currently negotiating the terms of this offer.
While for now there's been no confirmation of whether these speculations are true, the information came soon after the previous scoop suggesting that Adam Driver was cast as Reed Richards.
If the scoopers are correct, at least two protagonists of the Fantastic Four are almost settled, and only The Thing and Human Torch remain unknown.
In the larger picture, if Margot Robbie will really be cast as Invisible Woman, this will make her one of the very few performers who managed to work for both Marvel and DC simultaneously; apart from her, only three other actors have managed to pull this off so far — Michael Keaton, Sean Gunn, and David Harbour.
We're still waiting for the official comments from either Marvel Studios or Margot Robbie, but until we get those, there's only one thing we can be certain of: this entire mass reboot situation is already resulting in very peculiar scenarios, and we can't wait to see where the two major studios take their universes in the future.
