Lucasfilm President Addresses The Future Of 'Obi-Wan Kenobi'

The 6-part miniseries chronicling Obi-Wan Kenobi 's struggle to protect Princess Leia and young Luke Skywalker from Darth Vader has been a hit with 'Star Wars ' fans, who praised the series for its great action and first-rate script. Despite some controversy surrounding Inquisitor Reva's storyline, which many felt was severely underdeveloped, it seems that the final episode still managed to please fans. The last scene shown in the series captured Kenobi's conversation with the Force ghost of his mentor Qui-Gon Jinn, who informed him that the Jedi have much to look forward to in the future. Season two confirmed?

In a conversation with Entertainment Online Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy touched on the possibility of a second season of 'Kenobi', even though it was originally developed and advertised as a limited series.

"Well, frankly, we did set out to do that as a limited series. But I think if there's huge engagement and people really want more Obi-Wan, we'll certainly give that consideration because the fans, they speak to us. And if we feel like, 'OK, there's a real reason to do this; it's answering the why then,' then we'll do it. But we'll see," Kennedy said.

Fans are clearly excited about this update and have already put forth several theories regarding the narrative of season two, wishing that the beloved Stormtrooper Orange Pauldron was the next villain tasked with killing Kenobi and his young charges.
