Loki Season 2 Premiere: 5 Things That Will Have You Rethinking Everything
Loki's back and he's brought a universe of mysteries with him.
The God of Mischief is finally back with the much-anticipated premiere of Loki season 2. The first episode gives hope that the MCU won't disappoint this time. If you’ve already watched the episode, it’s about time to break it down.
1. Triangles Everywhere
The episode is filled with triangle motifs. These triangles are seen in various settings like hallways and tables. In the end credits, we witness a diagram that resembles Nikola Tesla's 369 Theory.
In real life, Tesla believed that the numbers 3, 6, and 9 held cosmic significance. In the MCU context, this could hint at a universal principle or law that governs time and space.
2. Council of Kangs
In the judge’s chamber, we get a glimpse of a time when the TVA was under the rule of multiple Kangs. We’ve seen the Council of Kangs in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
So, either TVA was controlled by the same Council, or there are (were) two Councils of Kang. According to one fan theory, there might be two Councils — Time Council and Multiversal Council.
3. Hexagons and the Multiverse
On the credits’ post-in noteboard, you can spot a “Hex moment” sticky note. The recurring hexagon references might be more than just random shapes.
They could be linked to the Scarlet Witch's hex powers and the broader multiverse. With Wanda's powers being central to the multiverse narrative, these hexagons could foreshadow significant events in the MCU's future.
4. Ouroboros
The new character Ouroboros is named after the ancient symbol of a snake eating its tail.
This symbol, which represents the cyclical nature of time and the idea that the end is also the beginning, might play a pivotal role in the season's narrative. It suggests that events might come full circle, leading to unexpected outcomes.
5. Time Slipping
Loki's newfound ability to time slip adds a fresh twist to the time travel storytelling. Unlike traditional time travel, time slipping allows Loki to influence the past of the TVA.
This introduces a paradoxical scenario where past events can be altered, leading to unforeseen consequences.
