Lizzie McGuire's Revival Was Scrapped, But This Juicy Leak Makes Up For It
This truly would be what dreams are made of.
Summary:
- Lizzie McGuire was the iconic Disney TV show from the early 2000s that launched Hilary Duff's career.
- In 2019, Disney Plus announced a revival series with many of the original cast members and the original creators returning to their roles.
- After showrunner Terri Minsky left the revival, it was scrapped.
- However, thanks to writer Jonathan Hurwitz, who worked on the show, we now know who Lizzie would end up with, at least by the third episode.
If there's one thing that hits the sweet spot for all the millennials out there better than the tea from the cast of Victorious, it's all things Lizzie McGuire.
Not only did this show launch Hilary Duff's career, but it also served as a template for many young girls to build their identities on.
Back in the early 2000s, this Disney show was a huge hit that everyone knew about and no one could miss.
And it had just as much of an opportunity for a huge comeback two decades later, but the stars did not align and the project was canceled by Disney Plus in the middle of production.
Even though that happened in 2020, many Lizzie McGuire fans are still just as curious about what the revival would have looked like and how things would have gone for Lizzie in her 30s.
Luckily, there are creatives who worked on the show who were generous enough to share some details.
Are Lizzie McGuire and Gordo Endgame?
Unfortunately for many viewers who have been loyal to the couple of Lizzie and Gordo for more than two decades, we now know that they were not going to end up together.
At least that's what was written in the script and filmed for the second episode of an unaired show.
This little secret, as well as many others, was shared by Jonathan Hurwitz, the writer who worked on the show, on his personal TikTok.
As Hurwitz confirmed, two episodes of the show had already been filmed, but three scripts had been completed.
So, even though the actors never filmed the scene, the writers intended for Lizzie to meet another old friend, Ethan Craft.
How the friendly text message Lizzie would've received at the end of episode two would've led to her waking up in Ethan's bed at the beginning of episode three will forever remain a mystery.
However, thanks to the cheeky little animated version of Lizzie, we do know that she crossed him off her to-do list... twice.
Of course, TikTok is barely enough to satisfy the fans' craving for more, but all the juicy details of Lizzie McGuire's supposed adult life have made many people realize just how much they want to see it on their screens.
Judging by the comments section, if Disney Plus or Hulu changed their minds and brought the show back today, it would still be just as big a hit.
Unfortunately, there is no official news indicating that this will happen anytime soon.
