The iconic Cersei Lannister actress grew too tired of talking about her Game of Thrones career, so she taught her children to feign ignorance when someone asks them about it.

Game of Thrones rightfully was the world’s biggest and most popular series back when it was aired, and consequently, every major role actor from the show was launched into international stardom. Some of them were very fresh, others had experience, but they all became superstars thanks to their GoT performances.

For aspiring lead actors like Emilia Clarke or Kit Harrington, the show became a massive breakthrough. Their names became known all over the world, and many doors opened before them — but at some point, many of them started distancing themselves from GoT so that people would see them as more than just Mother of Dragons or Lord Commander.

Even the actors who had already been acclaimed for years before joining the projects, like Charles Dance or Lena Headey, received an insane boost to recognition and popularity after starring in Game of Thrones. So much, in fact, that even they had to distance themselves from the show because of all the noise.

Lena Headey, the actress behind Queen Cersei Lannister, even taught her kids to pretend they don’t know about her role in Game of Thrones! While she admitted she generally didn’t talk about it too much with the children, she decided it would be better if they denied her starring in the show at all!

“If someone says, ‘Oh, you're in Game of Thrones,’ my youngest now says things like, ‘What is Game of Thrones?’ In fact, the other day she went, ‘My mommy is in…’ And I was like, ‘You don't tell people!’” Headey shared with People.

Much like many of her former co-stars, Lena Headey is admittedly tired of the Game of Thrones fame — but even despite trying to hide it, she admits that these days, people who recognize her generally say nice things to the actress. This is a good change of pace from before when Headey claimed she was constantly receiving hate on behalf of her character, Cersei Lannister.
