Making the way up the career ladder is always more fun when there's an audience to watch.

Many people see the acting career as something very non-linear and very different from the everyday office job.

What they don't realize is that stories of actors and actresses who have huge breakthroughs early in their careers are very rare. And when it comes to everyone else, the road to stability can be just as long and hard.

Many actors have to start out as extras on sets, doing small parts here and there, and filming commercials if they meet current beauty standards.

Some even go so far without getting anything good that they have to take regular jobs on the side to support themselves financially.

One of the more fortunate scenarios is when the actor is picked up by the studio or network to get a supporting role and then becomes a regular.

We've seen that happen a number of times on different shows. However, there is one bizarre example of an actor going that route, but changing not only the status but a character...and a show.

If you feel like you've seen Detective Bobby Reyes from Law & Order: Organized Crime before, you're not wrong.

Aside from seeing the actor who portrays him, Rick Gonzalez, in various other projects, like Arrow or Legends of Tomorrow you may have also seen an episode of another Dick Wolf creation, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, where he appeared in the very first season.

Law & Order has always been known for repeating actors, and for them coming back years later in other, more prominent roles, but this may be the biggest gap between them all.

Episode 16 of Season 1 of SVU, in which Rick Gonzalez appears in the Law & Order universe, premiered back in 2000, while the first appearance of Detective Bobby Reyes is dated 2022.

Both Special Victims Unit and Organized Crimes were recently renewed for another season, so stay tuned for more exciting news and behind-the-scenes updates.
