With no positive updates on the horizon, fans, already bummed out by the show's early cancellation, wondered if they would even get to see the season five finale, as the lack of any sort of conclusion felt like a thorn in their side.
Now, finally, the release date for the final six episodes of season 5 has been announced, but fans will have to wait a whole year, as they will air in November 2024.
However, in the same statement, Paramount Network brought potentially great news for the fans of the franchise, as the world of Yellowstone will be expanded with two more spin-off shows, "1944" and "2024."
The Straw That Broke The Camel's Back
The reaction from the fanbase is extremely mixed, as the perspective of waiting so long for the finale of the story didn't sit well with many of them.
While some viewers were relieved to finally be able to move on with their lives after November 2024, others expressed their utter frustration, claiming that they are done with the series and no longer care about the season finale as it is still miles away from release.
However, the announcement of two more spin-offs (as it was practically a done deal after the success of "1883" and "1923") was received much more positively, and sparked interest in what the projects might focus on.
