Hopefully, it was worth it while it lasted.

Even though Shazam! Fury of the Gods took a huge dip in its second weekend, it still managed to cross the $100 million mark worldwide and did pretty well in terms of audience satisfaction.

While critics weren't so sure about the movie, fans and star Zachary Levi came to its defense.

The fate of Shazam's sequel remains uncertain, given the lukewarm response to its predecessor. Still, it's nice to see the main character standing up for it and ready to move on.

The DCU was very lucky to get Levi to join their cast. Or were they just lucky that the MCU lost him?

The MCU film Thor: The Dark World introduced the actor to the comic book world with his portrayal of Fandral, one of the Warriors Three.

He was originally tapped to play Fandral in 2011, but was unable to do so because he was busy producing Chuck. It was the first time he noticed that Fandral wasn't as present as he had hoped.

Unfortunately, despite Kevin Feige's personal assurances to the contrary, the situation repeated itself.

"I saw the first movie, and I didn't really feel like the Warriors Three were utilized in that great of a way. And I was like, 'Is that going to be the case again, because if it is, I don't really want to do that, you know?' And he's like, 'No, no, no, it's gonna be a huge part of this movie," Levi spoke up on this situation on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

He later continued to say how in reality nothing, in particular, has changed with Warrior Three representation in the second movie as well.

It would be understandable if he wasn't looking forward to returning to the MCU, although the actor later stated that he was still grateful for the job.

The DCU, on the other hand, offered Zachary Levi a lead role with the chance to make it his own and the hope of returning for another one.

"It is a shame the Warriors Three weren't really given much to do in the Thor movies, so I don't blame Levi for jumping from that to a lead role with DC," Redditor cbekel3618 said, supporting Levi's decision.

With the support of Marvel's fans, the choice to stand by DCU and Shazam, even in times of not-so-good box office, is not only smart but very honorable.
