Just How Much Nudity Will There Be in White Lotus Season 2?
The first season did not shy away from nude scenes — and it doesn't seem to be stopping.
It turns out The White Lotus might have been a lot more NSFW than it ended up being. At least that's what the show's season 2 star Theo James told Entertainment Tonight when recalling a certain nude scene in the show's upcoming episode 5.
According to the actor, the scene in question was so steamy it had to be toned down.
"The initial version we shot was way too much," James said. "So, we did a more subtle version."
Still, his character is nowhere near to being a prude. James plays Cameron Babcock, a wealthy businessman who enjoys a vacation on Sicily with his wife but quickly finds himself in a love square.
However, James was quick to note that in his case, the character's nudity has an explanation which is going to be "interesting".
Even with the showrunner's decision to "tone down" the steamy scene in episode 5, The White Lotus season 2 is going to delve into nudity with as much passion as the show did back in season 1.
"It's funny 'cause we're all kind of naked," James noted, adding, "It's a holiday show, really."
The show's creator Mike White described the season as "bedroom farce with teeth", flirting with the exploration of "the classic sexual politics, the naughty subversive stuff" when speaking with Vulture.
The White Lotus season 2 premiered on HBO Max on October 30, effectively taking the reins of House of the Dragon after the Game of Thrones prequel concluded its first season on October 23.
