Speaking of their dream roles, both actors were very open about their desire to stick with more queer roles.

While Bomer, whose career was boosted by his role in White Collar, is now dedicated to the idea of portraying a queer character from every decade of the 20th century (which is not too hard a task, considering Fellow Travelers already covers 4 of them), Bailey's dream goes way beyond that. He's looking to ancient Greece for inspiration.

“I’m obsessed with the Sacred Band of Thebes, an army of 300 gay lovers in [ancient] Greece. They partnered in pairs, this gay army, and they overthrew a Spartan army… I want to do that as a comedy. <...> Just get all the queer actors together,” he suggested.

One can only admire the actor's love for history and romance, as the origin story of the Sacred Band of Thebes could also be a great premise for a romantic period drama. The idea behind such a troupe came from the hypothesis that lovers would fight for each other with more fury and devotion than strangers.

Comedic or not, a story like this deserves to be taught and remembered, so if there was ever a chance for it to reach the big screen, it would surely find many supporters.
