A new interview with Chad Stahelski has fans even more excited about the upcoming project.

The situation regarding videogame adaptations seems to be slowly improving, with a number of successful projects appearing in recent years, and several more awaiting their release.

One of the most promising is the upcoming movie based on 2020's PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima, which will be directed by Chad Stahelski, best known for his massively successful John Wick movies, and the recent interview with the creator has only fueled fans' expectations.

Speaking with ComicBookMovie, Stahelski shed some light on what he has in store for fans, declaring his love for the source material and calling the upcoming project "the most anti-samurai samurai movie out there."

He talked about the journey the main character, Jin Sakai, has to go through, making choices that put him in conflict with his honorable samurai upbringing that he wants to preserve, as well as the characters Jin meets along the way.

The director is also keen on capturing the game's signature visuals, with the main trick being how to make it a satisfying adaptation that also leaves room for future expansions.

Fans are impressed with the amount of passion Chad has for the upcoming movie and say that he seems to be the perfect guy for the job. After four incredible John Wick movies that had authentic action sequences and slick visuals, fans are hoping that he will be able to bring that experience to the Ghost of Tsushima movie.

After all, the game had juicy fights and amazing visuals, made even better by such creative additions as maple or wisteria leaves being carried by the wind, which was extremely aesthetically pleasing. And Stahelski seems to have a perfect understanding of what made the story great, so fans have high hopes for him.

The plot of the movie will most likely follow the original game and revolve around the first Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274, as one of the last remaining samurai, Jin Sakai, must find a way to stand up to the overwhelming horde of enemies.

No release date or cast has been announced yet.
