Jim Parsons Almost Lost It During Emotional TBBT Scene with Simon Helberg
There's no doubt that throughout the 279 episodes and 12 years that The Big Bang Theory actors worked together, they've experienced their fair share of growth and intense moments together.
And there were many scenes that not only made the viewers go through a wide spectrum of emotions but also the cast behind the scenes. However, there was one moment that Jim Parsons and Simon Helberg shared in particular, during which Parsons almost lost it.
There was never a dull moment on TBBT with Jim Parsons' Sheldon Cooper. He knew exactly how to make us laugh, cry and, at times, feel incredibly annoyed. But this sarcastic character, who most of us could've never imagined being overly emotional, did have a moment during the big finale.
Of course, having to say goodbye to the show after all those years together was not an easy task for any of the cast members. In fact, when the actors received the sudden news about Parsons' decision to leave and the series coming to an end, it was especially hard for some of them to process it.
And as one can expect, it was difficult for them to get through the final scenes, with Cuoco having real tears while filming.
But despite Parsons being the one who decided to move on from the beloved sitcom and try his hand at some other roles and projects, filming the final episode wasn't any easier for him. And things got especially soul-stirring during Sheldon's speech where he shows long-awaited appreciation to all his friends and thanks them, referring to them as the "greatest group of friends anyone has ever had."
Although the entire speech was very emotional for everybody, Parsons himself appeared to have almost lost it when he finally called Howard Wolowitz an astronaut.
It looked like he was so caught up in the moment that he had to fight back tears in order to get through the scene. Being an astronaut was an achievement Howard was most proud of, and it was great to see Sheldon give him the acknowledgement he deserved.
Any TBBT long-time fan will know how beautiful this moment truly was, and it even made some viewers break down in tears when they watched it. According to some fans, this made the ending one of the sweetest and most touching ones they've ever seen.
