You should not believe anything he says at this point.

All Succession fans were extremely hyped for season 4 of the show to finally hit our screens.

They were devastated to know that this would be the last they would see of their favorite dysfunctional wealthy family, but they were still very eager to find out how the story ended.

While the decision to end on a high note was surprising, many came to terms with it fairly quickly. It's always hard to say goodbye to something so good.

But it's even harder to see something so dear to your heart slowly diminish in quality and be dragged through the mud for God knows how long.

One of the long-awaited milestones in the story, of course, was the passing of Logan Roy. As long-lived as he was, the succession couldn't be decided beforehand.

One of the biggest shocks for fans, however, was the timing: Logan Roy died in episode 3, not even halfway through the season.

What's even more interesting is that this completely contradicts the words of Jesse Armstrong, the show's creator, who said that the most shocking episode would be episode 8.

Of course, there is the possibility that he is fudging the numbers or has some sort of personal connection to this episode, but now that it has premiered, fans just feel cheated.

Sure, like any other episode, episode 8 of Succession was full of drama and action. With all the tension surrounding the main characters of the show, it's only fair that it gets darker and darker.

However, between Roman becoming a full Nazi supporter and Kendall cruelly mocking Shiv's stutter, the episode did not stand out from the rest of the series.

The best bet viewers have now is that episode 3, in which Logan Roy died, was the most shocking of them all, and Armstrong just didn't want to ruin it for the fandom.

After all, part of the reason the moment was so good was that no one was expecting it to happen, so the added suspense would just ruin it.

But don't get too relieved just yet. There are still two more episodes to air, including the series finale, so be prepared for more drama.

Tune in to HBO on Sundays to not miss another episode of Succession.
