Jensen Ackles is Here to Mock Hogwarts Legacy And Make You Love It
Turns out the Supernatural star is pretty good at all things satire.
While Jensen Ackles is enjoying a brief break from playing Soldier Boy on Amazon's The Boys, he is back as Major Sergei Nechaev, a mentally unstable (because of course) Soviet officer tasked with fighting the robots linked together by a rogue AI called the Kollektiv.
In a new live-action trailer for the Atomic Heart video game, Ackles shows off his melee weapon skills — and also helps the game take a subtle jab at Hogwarts Legacy, the current big hit with gamers around the world. With its Harry Potter-esque music and the fiasco of the girl's "wand," it's clear that Atomic
Heart is challenging its Hogwarts rival in the trailer.
Judging by the reaction of the fans, the challenge worked. Ackles certainly knows how to look cool while saving people (even if his last role in The Boys was not exactly about that).
Even The Boys' official account took the opportunity to joke about someone else having an "atomic heart," a reference to Soldier Boy's ability to create nuclear explosions.
Ackles' heroic and comedic performance had both Atomic Heart and Hogwarts Legacy fans applauding the ad. Although the actor has not been officially confirmed as a part of the game, the role of Nechaev definitely fits him as well as Dean Winchester and Soldier Boy.
Therefore, many fans are actually not ready for the bombshell trailer to be the last time Ackles appears in Atomic Heart's alternate Soviet Union universe, and are demanding that the game's creators make Ackles' voice the main character.
Atomic Heart will be released on February 21, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
