The actress revealed how Jennifer Lopez almost left her without an eye.

Jane Fonda, 85, was a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show, and during the conversation she recalled the movie that brought her back to the big screen after a 15-year hiatus.

In 2005, Jane starred in the romantic comedy Monster-in-Law, where she co-starred with Jennifer Lopez.

In her interviews, Fonda has repeatedly admitted that she is grateful to J Lo for the opportunity to be on screen again. But there was one moment that left unpleasant memories of the filming.

It was the iconic slap scene where Fonda and Lopez's characters slap each other on the cheeks. In the frame it looked very convincing, and in real life, the actress claims, it was no less painful.

"I slap her, she slaps me, I slap her. Well, Jennifer — as per Jennifer — she had this enormous diamond ring. And so, when she slapped me one of the times, it cut open across my eye, my eyebrow. And she's never apologized," the actress revealed.

However, Jennifer Lopez herself is sure that she apologized to her co-star immediately after the incident.

The actress also repeatedly recalled the situation, saying that when she saw that Jane was injured, was scared to death, but the actress behaved like a real "gangster" and took the incident with humor.

Anyway, the actresses still seem to be on good terms to this day. In the comedy Monster-in-Law, Jennifer played the role of Charlie, who has met the man of her dreams and is preparing to get married.

However, Jane's character will not give her son to marry a girl she does not like at all.

Monster-in-Law was a success and collected more than 150 million dollars at the box office, being appreciated by viewers around the world.

After the role of Viola Fields, Fonda began to be more actively invited to new projects, although the heyday of her career, it seems, was left far behind in the 60s and 70s, which glorified Jane with roles in such cult movies as Barbarella, Les Felines, Barefoot in the Park and The Chase.

Jane Fonda's latest work is the movie Book Club: The Next Chapter. It will be released on May 12, 2023.
