Jennifer Lawrence revealed how the most terrifying experience of her entire acting career turned out to affect her in a completely unexpected way.

Back in 2018, Jennifer Lawrence was performing in Red Sparrow, a modern spy thriller about Russian and American spies, gangsters, ballerinas, and international plots.

The movie sounds (and is!) exciting, but contrary to everything else, when Jennifer learned she had to appear nude on the set, she became sick.

While Jennifer Lawrence has never exactly been known for being shy, back in 2018, having to shoot a nude scene made her terrified.

The actress thought she was ready for it when she read the script, but after realizing she'll have to appear completely naked in front of the entire crew, it turned out she was, in fact, not.

"It took a while to say yes – and the night before I didn't sleep at all and I was obviously really nervous because it is the actual nightmare of standing in front of a classroom naked," shared Jennifer on The Today Show.

Despite being immensely scared and having spent a sleepless night prior to the frightening experience, Lawrence managed to overcome her fear and dived right in.

It was very hard at first, but being a professional, she handled the scene — and discovered something new about herself along the way, too.

According to the actress, after finishing the nude scene, she didn't just feel relieved as she'd expected. Instead, she felt, quote, "empowered".

Having gone through this terrifying experience allowed Jennifer to gain more confidence and become better and more mentally resilient — which is definitely handy for an actress.

Shooting an entire scene completely naked set a new milestone for Jennifer Lawrence and allowed her to prove to herself — and everyone else — that she could go way out of her comfort zone to achieve whatever's needed for her projects.

Granted, it was completely unexpected and scary as hell at first, but she managed to turn this experience into a valuable lesson and a personal source of empowerment.
