Jeffrey Dean Morgan Excited About One TWD Spinoff, But It's Not Dead City

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who portrayed the charismatic and dangerous Negan on The Walking Dead, and now is reprising the role for the spinoff, Dead City, shared his excitement on Twitter about another upcoming spinoff — The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

In his tweet, Jeffrey Dean Morgan posted a recently revealed photo from the set of TWD: Daryl Dixon, depicting Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Melissa McBride (Carol), who is now confirmed to join the show.

It's not just the fans who got super hyped when they heard that Carol is coming back, but even Jeffrey Dean Morgan got excited about it.

The series was initially supposed to be about both Daryl and Carol. But over a year ago, they dropped the bombshell that the upcoming Daryl and Carol spin-off would be shifting gears and putting the spotlight on Daryl alone, because Melissa McBride decided to step away from the project.

Social media users launched an attack on Norman Reedus, holding him responsible for Melissa McBride's departure from the show.

In response, AMC intervened and appealed to fans to cease the attacks, clarifying that Reedus was not at fault. The network explained that the reason behind McBride's decision was her inability to relocate to Europe.

However, the above-mentioned photos from the set in France confirm that Carol eventually makes it to the show. However, what’s more likely is that her role won’t be as big as it was initially planned.

But anyway, Reedus and McBride are two of the few original cast members who have been with us all these years. If you watched TWD, you know that these two have their history and they share some fantastic chemistry.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s tweet also got fans wondering if Negan also appears in Daryl Dixon's spinoff. Well, it's pretty unlikely since the show takes place in France and Negan has his own stuff going on in Dead City. The only way we might see him is in a flashback.
