Jared Padalecki Reveals Which Supernatural Character's Death Was the Most Painful
Supernatural can boast some of the most dramatic deaths on television. Jared Padalecki shares which character's passing was the hardest for him (and no, it was not one of the times Sam died).
It has been three years since Supernatural ended. Fans are still reeling from how some characters' stories came to an abrupt (and unfair) end.
The finale episode made us all suicidal, but back in 2017 when we could still hope that our favorite show would always be on the air, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles discussed the game-changing moments that defined Supernatural's future in an interview for Entertainment Weekly.
Those were the days before Season 13 ever saw the light of day. How much has changed since then…
Anyway, what did Jared say back in 2017? He shared that Bobby's death was one of the big moments of the show. The actor thought that "there was something about his death that we knew it was final… or final for Supernatural."
His co-star Jensen Ackles added that the reason for such a stance was that Bobby didn't die by accident and then they brought him back somehow as usual, but instead the character just said, "I'm done" (and he really was).
Remember how we all cried our eyes out when Bobby died for real? It still hurts…
Padalecki mentioned that Bobby's death was the most painful for him personally because he was basically the first character "who'd been there for years" to die permanently (more or less).
Even CW's then-president Mark Pedowitz said that he hated when Bobby died "but it was great television." Don't know about you, but we think it was great television even before Bobby was killed off (we are still not over it!)...
Funnily enough, Jensen then went on to say that "when Sam Winchester died for good, it's going to be good television; but when Dean Winchester lives on, it's going to be great television."
Well, that did not age well… How do we tell him?
