The actor tried to earn money by any means.

Not everyone's path to fame is an easy one – sometimes actors have to take a very dubious job at the beginning of their acting career.

Some have to wait tables or work as extras, while others are not afraid of more radical options, such as starring in an erotic movie.

From time to time, critics remind us that Jackie Chan began his career in the movies by doing adult films.

No doubt, in the minds of most fans, an unsurpassed martial artist and adult cinema are hardly compatible, so let's find out how "adult" these movies and roles were in reality.

In 1974, Jackie played a really minor, but generally important role for the plot – a street vendor in The Golden Lotus. The movie was based on the famous Chinese erotic novel from the 16th century The Plum in the Golden Vase.

The Golden Lotus is actually a melodrama with erotic elements. Jackie's character did not participate in any sex scene and disappeared from the screen 15 minutes after his appearance.

One year later, in the movie All in the Family, Chan played a rickshaw puller. The role is more psychological, but a steamy scene is there.

The movie tells two stories. The first one is about the family that has gathered around the dying head of the clan.

Although everyone is not thinking about the father, but about the inheritance, for which the relatives start to fight after his death.

The second story is about the life of a rickshaw driver played by Jackie Chan, and a prostitute who wants him to sleep with her daughter, but then starts fighting with her for his attention.

There are indeed some intimate scenes in the movie, but while they could be considered as something really blatantly vulgar at that time, they seem more than modest now.

Still, the erotic films of those years were much more conservative than today's.

Three decades later, Jackie Chan admitted that he does not like to recall these roles, but at the same time he is not shy or embarrassed about them.

The young, unknown actor made a living as best he could, and it was an experience that helped Jackie become who he is today.
