It’s Time to Bid Farewell to Emily in Paris: 4 Reasons Season 4 Is a Fashion Disaster
The show was so bad that it was good. Now it's just bad.
The fourth season of Emily in Paris got off to a disastrous start. The creators didn't develop interesting plots, the characters lost all their charm, and the storylines just kept repeating themselves.
1. Charismatic Characters Lose Their Charm
Fans admired Sylvie throughout the second and third seasons. But in Season 4, Sylvie, who was portrayed as a ruthless business shark, leaves everything to Emily and Luc. And they practically ruin the whole business.
It is hard to believe that Sylvie, who inspired fear and respect in previous seasons, did not even shake up the team enough to get them to pick themselves up and get to work.
The same thing happens to almost every other character: Alfie is no longer a cold-blooded bad boy, Luc has fallen flat, and Emily has simply stayed the same.
2. No More Impressive Scenery and Outfits
Emily in Paris could be forgiven for many of its sins, because at least it was a carnival of beauty and fashion. This time we got neither. The fashion shows we've seen in the first part of the fourth season are simply vulgar.
Even Emily's outfits, which were always a little crazy but made you want to look at them, turned into bad taste.
3. Everything Important Happens Behind the Scenes
There are several potentially interesting topics in the season that are not revealed in any way. They are resolved with a wave of a magic wand and the viewers are not even shown how it happens.
For example, the story of Sylvie, who faces a difficult dilemma. A journalist is writing an exposé about the owner of an agency that molests girls and asks Sylvie to tell her story because she was also a victim of this man.
On the one hand, there is the business of her husband, who collaborates with this agency, and the difficulties that this whole story will cause, and on the other hand, there are other girls who might suffer in the future. But Sylvie makes a choice almost immediately, and we do not see the consequences at all.
4. Endless Love Triangles Are Still There
The storyline around Emily and Gabriel is the same as in the previous seasons. We are shown the same thing as before: no one can figure out their feelings.
And now we have not one, but two love triangles – the second one is now managed by Emily's friend Mindy. Please, we want at least some stability.
