The Twilight saga may have ended more than 10 years ago, but it’s still a pretty relevant thing to talk about — especially with the ones who brought it to the screens. Kristen Stewart, who portrayed the main character Bella in 5 movies about the relationships between a human and a vampire, has recently revealed one plot detail that she’s not content about.
Kristen Stewart’s career, alongside ones of her co-stars like Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, skyrocketed thanks to her appearance in Twilight — the actress portrayed a shy high school teenager who falls for a vampire in disguise.
The fans got to see five movies about an unusual couple’s relationship, the story about which eventually grossed more than $3 billion worldwide.
While talking to Amanda Hirsch for her podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, the actress once again returned to reminiscing about her iconic role in the high-grossing franchise.
As the podcast host claimed that she doesn’t really like Bella “in retrospect” by then clarifying that the character was ready for anything, including turning into a vampire too, just to be with Edward, Stewart referenced one particular feature of Bella’s personality that even to this day makes her uncomfortable.
In her reply to Amanda, the actress stated that Edward in fact “was trying to sort of control whether or not she made choices for herself” adding that, if she had been in a relationship like this, she would’ve broken up with him right away.
Stewart also said that she was seemingly fine with her character’s self-respectless behavior back then, but now she would never put up with such a plot course.
And the actress seems to be quite firm in her opinions as she claimed she’d never allow anyone to use their protection issues to control her entire life — “you gotta let a girl make her own choices”.
