When one door in the show closes for an actor, there is always a spin-off opportunity to shine again.

Walker Independence is an old-school American Western. Although season 1 has already ended, fans will still be able to enjoy their favorite character portrayed by Justin Johnson Cortez in the Walker universe, as he is going to guest-star on the original Walker series.

On Walker's 1800s-set prequel spinoff he plays Calian, an Apache tracker and a member of a group of indigenous scouts outside Independence.

In the midseason finale, Calian was on his way out of Independence after being on trial for the murder of one of the town's founding fathers, Francis Reyes.

And now Cortez will make a cameo appearance in Walker as Sonny Alcala. Alcala is portrayed as a professional homicide detective who started his career working with Cordell Walker (Jared Padalecki ) and Captain James many years ago.

According to Deadline, Cortez will play a potentially recurring new role, and if he is lucky, his new part could somehow reveal the connection to his Walker Independence character Calian.

It is interesting to note that Padalecki, who is an executive producer on Walker Independence, has also recently made a guest appearance on the prequel series.

That happened in season 3, when his unnamed character had a scene with Walker alum Matt Barr's Hoyt Rawlins. They were on a train robbery attempt together, so they made some jokes and decided it could be a great partnership.

But it seems that all this news just doesn't help, as the audience is truly tired of how the CW treats them.

"Everyone knows the CW is done with original scripted programming. All the shows are dead. Hopefully the showrunners wrote this [season] shows with the full knowledge it was the last and so write some conclusion to the ongoing story arcs so the fans get some closure," Reddit user lightsongtheold complained.

So the creative team of two shows might want to try a little harder than sliding a Cortez cameo to try and keep the audience invested in the Walker universe.
