It’s a tough choice, but one that has to be made.

Summary:

  • The Big Bang Theory was a CBS sitcom that ran for 12 seasons, from 2007 to 2019.
  • Despite the series finale, which premiered over 4 years ago, it remains incredibly popular due to its relatable characters and brilliant writers.
  • Fans of the show on Reddit decided on the best line ever written in an episode.

Over the years, there have been several sitcoms that have become classics, and The Big Bang Theory is definitely one of them. The scientific and pop culture references, while plentiful, were always reduced to painting a better picture of how the characters thought rather than educating the audience, and the real source of joy came from all the jokes.

Depending on the time period of the show or the character saying the line, they ranged from mean and creepy to rather lighthearted, so everyone could find them relatable. However, there were a few gems that everyone seemed to find equally funny.

As some words and phrases made their way into the wilderness, onto T-shirts and mugs, and even into everyday conversation, it became even harder to pick the best. The good news is that Redditors have taken it upon themselves to find out the truth.

As expected, the post that was shared on r/bigbangtheory got a lot of traction and had die-hard fans fighting for the recognition of their choice. With 12 years of content, choosing a single like was not an easy task.

“Gosh, Amy. I'm sensing a little hostility. Is it maybe because like Sheldon's work, your sex life is also theoretical?”

A classic Bernadette's roast of Amy was suggested by Redditor user11112222333. While it's a great line and got a lot of upvotes, it didn't quite make it as high as the quote from Sheldon Cooper himself.

No matter how annoying he was, and no matter how much resentment much of the fandom has for him, it's hard to deny that he was often the funniest part of the show. The dialogue he and Penny had in The Prestidigitation Approximation (S4E18). It was submitted by user Natural-History4145 and has received the most upvotes to date.

In particular, Sheldon’s question “Not knowing is part of the fun. Was that the motto of your community college?” is what made people especially giggly. Perhaps too many people can relate to this motto in real life.

If you want to catch up on the show, The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Max.
