It could have been one more peaceful evening in suburbia… but something felt wrong.

Desperate Housewives 2.0: to be or not to be? The idea of bringing back beloved ladies of Wisteria Lane has always been quite tempting. Sure, you can never get enough of a good old neighbor gossip.

But most of the fans are confident that it shouldn't be done. After its debut in 2004, the series was a real hit. And even the ending of Desperate Housewives was claimed to be one of the bests in TV history.

So is there any reason why to change that aftertaste?

"As much as I loooove the show and rewatch it constantly, I wouldn't be into a reboot. The way it was written, made and finished back then made sense. No need to risk ruining the franchise with a reboot," Reddit user Accomplished_Law1563 said.

The main reason to believe the new series might be a success is the timing for revival. You see, nobody believed that And Just Like That might be as good as it turned out. So why not try and follow in the footsteps?

Actually, there is an answer to that. While the main characters of Sex and the City stayed in New York throughout all these years, Susan, Lynette, Gaby and Bree all ended up in different parts of the US.

So the writers might need something really huge to bring them all back to Wisteria Lane. Fans think…maybe another murder will do the trick? For instance, it could be Teri Hatcher's character who might end up killed.

Her candidacy is not coming from nowhere. The thing is, Hatcher, who played Susan, was actually the only one of the main women of the series that was against the reboot once rumors started spreading.

Well, it's not hard to understand her. Among all characters, she is the only one who ended up almost exactly where she began: lonely mother left all alone.

So is there any chance the series creators might come up with something that might hook the fans?

"I wouldn't mind a spin off, Desperate Housewives of Maine or something like that. Similar to how there are multiple cities in real housewives. I think that's the only route that won't take away from the characters we've come to know and love, that and good writing too." Reddit user daspectacularspidey said.

So it turns out that the fans may want to see the reboot, but not the And Just Like That-like. New suburban city, new neighbors, new murders and dark secrets. Sleep well, Wisteria Lane! There is hope no one is going to disturb you after all.
