So, the first episode of season 3 of Mandalorian is finally here, hooray.

And yet, despite the high level of anticipation, it seems that 'Filoniverse' fans are quite dissatisfied, not only because of the character's actions that subtly retcon the Season 2 finale, but also because of the very first scene of the first episode.

Behold yet another fans' wrath, Disney!

Season 2 ended with the heartbreaking separation of Din Djarin and Grogu, as the little member of the Yoda species set out with Luke Skywalker to learn to control his attachments on the path to mastery of the Force.

Nevertheless, the drama of the situation has been subdued with the release of The Book of Boba Fett — Grogu decided to abandon the Jedi path and return to his adoptive father.

The seemingly optional spin-off confused viewers who did not watch the series dedicated to the crime lord's adventures.

As Redditor OnionKnightSerDavos said, "Finally got around to watching and not thrilled. Didn't watch Boba Fett [so I was] really confused why the end of season 2 didn't matter apparently? Not even a quick recap of why baby yoda is back?".

Moreover, not only Grogu's comeback was perplexing, but also the first scene. According to Reddit users, many believed the scene was a flashback, not a current event.

Yet it was quite clever, providing more insight on the Children of the Watch initiation which both Din Djarin and Paz Vizsla experienced (and what Grogu might face in the future).

Nonetheless, despite the level of cinematography, the episode itself didn't impress fans that much. In particular, fans began to wonder about the level of intelligence of the Mandalorians in a not-so-successful battle with a gigantic alien creature.

"Mandalorians have an extremely low life expectancy due to their choices in habitat", Reddit user PWBryan laughed.

All in all, Star Wars aficionados didn't appreciate the plot of the episode too much, likening it to a video game script rather than a story with living characters.

This didn't cancel out the discussions about the events to come, though.

This included a new milestone in the story of Bo-Katan Kryze, who had lost all motivation after losing yet another chance to wield the Darksaber, as well as foreshadowing of the upcoming Ahsoka series.
