There are at least two iconic versions of the caped crusader in the new movie.

The first trailer for The Flash arrived on Sunday, making waves in the DC fandom and revealing not one, but two iterations of Batman returning in the film: Michael Keaton's and Ben Affleck 's. However, many fans believe that there is another Batman variant in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance in the trailer.

According to some people, one particular shot looks way too much like Christopher Nolan 's Batman to not be teasing a Christian Bale appearance.

So far, there has been no official confirmation of Bale's Batman, and many fans argue that Affleck's caped crusader has a similar vehicle and it's most likely him, not Bale, in the trailer. Naturally, heated debates ensued, with "Bale believers" certain that the Nolan variant will make a cameo in the film, essentially collecting a Batman bingo similar to what Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home did with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland.

Those who think they spotted Bale's Batman in the trailer argue that his Batcycle, suit armor, utility bat, and grapple gun are all Bale's equipment.

Many people are excited about a potential Batman trio in The Flash, but are still concerned that the DCU might keep all three as permanent characters. Recently, DCU head James Gunn said that a new actor will be cast as Batman, specifically debunking rumors that George Clooney is being eyed as the new DCU Batman.

Until The Flash hits theaters, all fans can do is decipher the trailer and offer speculation and theories. Since The Flash delves so deeply into the multiverse, many people are hoping that the first trailer has not revealed every surprise that the movie has in store.

The Flash premieres on June 16.
