Is Neil Gaiman Involved in The Rings of Power?
Do we not know something about the Sandman author?
Recently, Neil Gaiman had to deal with groups of people who flocked to his Twitter account in order to express discontent about The Rings of Power and how it handles the world of Middle-earth.
Gaiman, who is no stranger to online criticism, especially in the wake of his graphic novel Sandman being recently adapted for television by Netflix, is surprisingly willing to engage in dialogue with Tolkien fans.
But why? Does he actually have something to do with Amazon's The Rings of Power?
Well... in fact, no.
Apparently, Gaiman decided to communicate with the critics out of mere irony, pledging to fix all "mistakes" as soon as he is appointed responsible for the creative process behind the Lord of the Rings prequel.
"Next time I am responsible for the photography, costume and production design of the Rings of Power I will definitely take your advice on what it should look like," Gaiman tweeted, responding to one of the critics.
In a similar sarcastic manner, he replied to several other frustrated viewers, even though he was never responsible for anything they took issue with.
The author's fans, who are no stranger to Gaiman's humor, seem to be enjoying the show.
Just why some people believe Gaiman is somehow involved with the Amazon show is a sheer mystery. But the way he handles it is yet another reason for his actual show, The Sandman, to get renewed for another season, fans believe.
"What is with the Neil Gaiman Rings of Power thing? How did that start? I mean he's handling it amazingly, he's gone full troll at this point, please give this man another season of Sandman." – @Armchair_Egypt
Created by Amazon, The Rings of Power is spearheaded by showrunners J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay, with Gennifer Hutchison, Helen Shang, Jason Cahill, Justin Doble, Bryan Cogman, and Stephany Folsom on board as writers.
The show is streaming on Prime Video, with new episodes arriving every Friday.
