A new photo teases Black Noir being back from the dead.

Season 4 of The Boys is at its filming stage, and occasional teaser photos from the set make fans go wild. A new photo published by a Twitter account Comicology was no exception. In the photo, we see a group of Supes including Black Noir who was considered dead after the season 3 finale. Does it mean the character beloved by many fans will return in the new season of the show?

For The Boys fans, the possibility of Black Noir being alive is not new or surprising. After the gruesome season 3 finale where Homelander kills Black Noir for betrayal – Black Noir withheld the fact that Soldier Boy was in fact Homelander's son – fans of the Prime Video show weren't convinced that such a powerful Supe as Black Noir could be killed by just ripping out his organs. We've seen Black Noir survive multiple stabs, a couple of explosions, and other fatal injuries, including Soldier Boy bashing his skull in and losing half his brains. The Homelander's attack was definitely not worse than all of that.

This logic made many fans wish Black Noir is somehow still alive. Many agreed that the show built the cool and mysterious character up and then threw away his potential in the finale. Something the creators might revisit in season 4.

The majority of fan theories say that Black Noir will escape and go to Stan Edgar who will help revive him. After that, Black Noir will go after Homelander. In the comic canon, Black Noir was created to put down Homelander in case he went rogue. We could be seeing a variation of this storyline play out in season 4 judging by the set photo in question.

Another possibility fans deduced from A-Train's old suit in the photo would be Black Noir returning for a flashback scene to help explain the character's death to the public.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has already confirmed to EW that the variation of the Black Noir character will return to the show, but it will not be the man we know who wears the suit. The new character in a Black Noir suit will also be played by Nathan Mitchell and will apparently be an "interesting and hilarious character." Something worth waiting for.
