There has been a lot of speculation about the sexuality of Gus Fring in the hit TV show Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul.

Many fans have wondered if the Chicken King is really gay. After all, he runs a pretty risky operation, and same-sex love can be dangerous in the drug business.

While the show has never explicitly stated Gus Fring's sexuality, there are certainly hints and clues throughout the series that suggest he may be attracted to men.

For example, in an episode of Better Call Saul, Gus is seen in a flashback scene with his former business partner, Max Arciniega.

The two men are shown holding hands and looking into each other's eyes, which many viewers interpreted as evidence of a romantic relationship between the two.

Better Call Saul also featured an intriguing conversation between Gus and the bartender at the restaurant while Fring waited for his partners. They discussed wine and distant lands, and there was a real spark between them.

The relationship of one of the most dangerous people in the Breaking Bad universe was not directly shown. Though Gus' empty house was featured a lot.

The creator of the chicken franchise did not have a wife or children, which is quite telling. He didn't bother to find a fake family to cover for him.

The creators have refrained from commenting on Mr. Fring's orientation, but there is enough evidence to draw a conclusion. Fans also note that the Jimmy McGill series has slightly lifted the veil of mystery.

"So it's pretty common knowledge that Gus was known to be gay, even with Hector making a "butt brothers" joke in S3E4," Redditor EarnSomeRespect said.

However, many still cannot understand how Gus was able to not only survive all this time in the cartel, but also build an incredibly well-established business.

Others note that Fring was simply an associate with the lined-up operations guaranteed to make big money. This kept him out of retaliation for a long time.

Regardless of Fring's sexuality, however, there's no denying that Gus is one of the most intriguing and well-developed characters in recent television history.
