Insider Kills All Hope for Jensen Ackles in the MCU
Looks like Jensen Ackles isn’t going to portray this anticipated Marvel superhero.
If you've been keeping up with the latest rumors around the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you might have heard the whispers about Jensen Ackles, known for the roles of Dean Winchester from Supernatural and Soldier Boy from The Boys, possibly joining the MCU. However, it looks like it’s not happening.
With his performance as Soldier Boy, Jensen Ackles proved that a superhero costume actually suits him well. Ackles is constantly suggested by fans for DC to give him the role of Batman. But, Marvel fans would also love to see this talent in the MCU.
The rumor mill went into overdrive when a tweet from The MCU Den suggested that Jensen Ackles was being considered for the role of Nova in the MCU.
But before we could get too excited, CanWeGetSomeToast, a well-known insider in the entertainment world, quickly debunked the rumor in their X (formerly known as Twitter) account.
In the tweet, they stated, "Sorry Dean Winchester/Soldier Boy fans, this is 100% false." Ouch! That's a bummer for many fans who were hoping to see Ackles don the superhero cape (or helmet, in Nova's case).
Nova is a superhero alias used by several characters in the Marvel comics. The most notable of them is Richard Rider, who becomes a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps.
The MCU has been expanding its cosmic horizons, and with the Nova Corps already introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy, it's natural that fans have been expecting Nova to make an appearance.
Some fans believe that Jensen Ackles has the potential to be a game-changer for either DC or the MCU, emphasizing the actor's popularity. It is possible that he will soon appear in one of the franchises. The biggest question is: what character will he portray?
While it's disappointing for many that Jensen Ackles won't be joining the MCU (at least for now), we will soon see him (as a guest star) in the upcoming The Boys spinoff, Gen V.
Gen V is expected to premiere on September 29, 2023 on Amazon Prime Video.
