Innocent Harry Potter Epilogue Detail May Have Been Super Petty All Along

The Harry Potter movies will never be old enough for a rewatch, but revisiting Deathly Hallows Part 2 might be a little more uncomfortable after this little fan theory.
In the "19 Years Later" epilogue scene of the final film, we see the sweetest image the Harry Potter movies ever gave us: teary-eyed Harry, Ron and Hermione sending their children off to Hogwarts, standing on the iconic platform and enjoying the peaceful times that came after Harry defeated Voldemort some two decades ago.
What a wonderful memory of the beloved childhood saga, right? Allow us to ruin it for you with just one fan theory posted on Instagram, which says that Harry got Albus a ferret as a pet just to trigger Draco Malfoy's childhood trauma.
Remember the iconic scene from Goblet of Fire when Malfoy was turned into a ferret by Barty Crouch Jr. posing as Professor Moody? That was perhaps one of Draco's lowest moments in the series, and the entire school laughed at him. Given that Hogwarts' list of preferred pets does not include ferrets, the choice of Albus' pet cannot be a coincidence.
Hogwarts' recommendations for pets include owls, cats, or toads; however, Albus would not be the first student to disagree.
We all know that Ron had a rat (which was technically a human, so...), while his sister had a pygmy puff named Arnold. After all, the rule recommending owls, cats and toads may have been changed by 2017, when Albus first entered Hogwarts.
Could it just be that Albus Severus Potter wanted a ferret as a pet? It certainly could. In fact, we all better believe it, because trying to get to your old nemesis via your child's pet doesn't sound like Harry Potter at all... does it?
