In Just 2 Weeks, Fallout Becomes Prime Video's 65 Million-Views Pride and Joy
Crawl out through the Fallout, baby, and add to those phenomenal viewership numbers.
Summary:
- Prime Video ’s Fallout TV show became an instant hit among OG game fans and new viewers alike.
- According to the streamer, in its first 2 weeks, Fallout raked up over 65 millions views.
- This makes Fallout the second most watched Prime Video TV show ever.
At this point, every last Vault Dweller and their robodog know that Prime Video’s latest TV show Fallout is a nuclear bomb in the best possible way: not that it bombed, but it positively destroyed the platform’s records with the shock wave. After two weeks of the show’s run, its numbers are phenomenal, and while it’s reason enough to celebrate already, they keep going up with every passing day.
Fallout Becomes Amazon’s New Biggest Thing
Prime Video proudly reports the success of its post-apocalyptic venture. According to the streamer, Fallout has already pulled off over 65M views, making it the second most watched TV show in the platform’s history — and the most watched series ever for the age group of 18–34 years old. This is quite an achievement for just 2 weeks!
For now, 2022’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power still maintains the Top 1 spot on Prime Video’s all-time charts, but it’s unlikely to hold on for much longer. The Rings of Power notoriously didn’t impress Tolkien’s fans and received an awful 38% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes — whereas Fallout is going strong with 90%, beloved by both OG video game fans and Vault Dwellers new to the Wasteland.
Fallout’s Popularity Instantly Secured Its Future
In the best Vault-Tec fashion, Prime Video’s new TV show secured its future at an instant: the overwhelmingly positive reception of the series and its high viewership numbers led to the streamer’s quick decision to renew it for Season 2. The official renewal decision was announced after just a few days of Fallout’s Prime Video run.
While the showrunners haven’t yet openly revealed the premise of Season 2, two major points of Season 1 suggest its direction. The final shot of New Vegas’ ruined scenery implies further action taking place there, and we have a speculation that the grand reveal of the Enclave’s still active presence will play a part in the storyline, too.
We’re eager to learn more about the showrunners’ plans for Season 2 — and for Fallout’s final takeover of Prime Video’s all-time chart. It’s bound to happen soon-ish.
