Is it really over for the show's fans?

Thousands of fans left devastated after the news that Paramount+ decided to cancel the reboot of iCarly after three successful seasons on screen.

The parent teen show debuted in 2007, with Carly, played by Miranda Cosgrove, being the main character. The show focused on her relationships with her friends and occasional love interests.

The show ended in 2012 with Carly moving to Italy, leaving behind her friends Sam and will-they-won't-they boyfriend Freddie. The show's finale was actually one of the rare times when fans were completely satisfied with how things were wrapped up. And that's a good reason for fans to be pissed at Paramount.

"A genuine shame. The third season was by far the best one yet, and ended on a huge cliffhanger too. iCarly was one of the few sitcoms to be lucky enough to get a proper ending in the first place so to have it come back years later only to be canceled prematurely really s*cks," Redditor ben123111 said.

The fans seemed to really grow to love the show. And that's no surprise, as the 2021 reboot brought back all the beloved characters with new twists. The story of Carly Shay continued in a new chapter of her life where she is no longer a teenage girl but a young woman with grown up problems to deal with.

The reason why the fans are angry with the network is because since season 3 is the last one for the reboot, they didn't get to see "the mother". As the die-hard fans remember, she left Carly when she was a child and since then it has been a dream of every fan to look into the eyes of this woman.

But the most devastating thing is that they finally got a chance to see Carly and Freddie get together, but even that ended up in jeopardy.

The first three seasons of iCarly are available to stream on Paramount+.
