How The Twilight Saga Almost Ruined Jennifer Lawrence's Acting Future

That audition was for 2008's $3.3 billion Twilight Saga, starring the iconic trio of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

In a recent interview on The Rewatchables podcast, Lawrence revealed that she auditioned for the Saga but was rejected without even a callback.

Her life took another turn when she landed the role of Katniss Everdeen in the dystopian The Hunger Games. But apparently, we never would have seen Lawrence's acting career take off because she was nervous about the success of Twilight.

Jennifer Lawrence admitted to feeling anxious about the impact of her own $2.9 billion movies after watching Kristen Stewart's rise to fame from starring in the Twilight franchise. Lawrence was well aware of the magnitude of her success and the changes it would inevitably have on her life.

The actress admitted that if she had chosen to star in the film in the early 2000s, she would have felt miserable dealing with the intense media scrutiny the stars of the vampire saga faced.

While the success that followed The Hunger Games in the mid-2010s was different from the obsession with a human-vampire-wolf love triangle, the attention surrounding the dystopian film's cast was hardly less.

Following the success of the book trilogy, which sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, The Hunger Games films grossed a combined $2.95 billion worldwide, making it the 21st highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

As much as Lawrence wanted to stay in the shadows, the success of the movie and the actress's rise to fame couldn't keep her out of the public eye. The actress has opened up about her nervousness and mishaps during premieres, including tripping on multiple occasions or experiencing insecurities.

She has also shared how these experiences contributed to her anxiety and led her to make self-deprecating comments during interviews. At some point of her life, these reflections have led her to regret her involvement in The Hunger Games franchise and the challenges of handling fame.

Despite all of this, Jennifer Lawrence has solidified herself as an iconic figure in the film industry with her portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise.
